Maasai Mara national reserve is located in the Southwestern part of Kenya, its 180 kilometers away from the Kenyan Capital city Nairobi. Maasai Mara is one of the most famous national reserves not only in Kenya but in Africa. This reserve is found in Narok County.
The Beacon of Hope school is located in the greater Maasai mara next to Maasai mara national reserve. 500m from the sekenani gate.
The school has an enrollment of about 180 learners and almost 99% are from the Maasai Mara community. The school was founded by a well-wisher Madam from international who drew up dream of helping the needy kids from the local after she made a visit to Maasai Mara.
Maasai children are encouraged to go to school, however challenges from poverty to food persist constantly and are dependent on the generosity of donors. Food was donated to the Maasai Mara to alleviate pressure from the parents and also encourage the kids to stay in school
